Mott Homestead has a Three Diamond Rating from AAA, CAA, American Bed
& Breakfast Assoc., Mobil Guide, Boston Sunday Globe (3 years "BEST"),

Each of the five guest
rooms is different and two are so exceptional that regulars tend to
schedule their trips around their availability. Ransom's Rest has a
fireplace and balcony, and the downstairs Corner Suite has a
wrap-around lake view and convenient dressing room. All rooms look
onto the lake and are brightly furnished with quilts and antiques.
The common space includes a living room with a fireplace and
a glassed-in porch, the center of the house is the kitchen and
adjacent dining room. The refrigerator is stocked with complimentary
Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, and the wonderful old Canadian tailor's
table is set each morning for a breakfast so elaborate that you make
your selections the day before. Specialities of the house feature
quiche, award-winning French toast, and an array of omelettes with
plenty of fresh fruit, juice, and of course local maple syrup. After
breakfast you may want to take your coffee or tea outdoors to enjoy
the bird's songs, sunshine, the lake and mountain views that surround
you and enjoy Patrick's baby quail.
From mid-July through
August, the Royal Lipizzan horses perform in a meadow down the road a
very rare treat for a world traveler. Thomas Mott Homestead will
provide you with good food, travel information, games, books for
browsing, and peaceful corners to escape. Bring your fishing pole,
golf clubs, boat or bicycle, and even your cross-country skis and
snowmobiles in the winter. There is also paragliding and paraflying
opportunities available.
The Thomas Mott is one hour from
Burlington, Shelburne, the Island of Montreal, Jay Peak, and the
Adirondack Mountains of Upper New York State. The Shrine of St. Anne,
where Samuel de Champlain first landed, and all the recreation and
beauty of the Lake Champlain Island is minutes from the front door.
