The Jackson House Inn at Woodstock, Vermont, offers luxurious accommodations in an 1890 Victorian mansion. On the National Register of Historic Places, each of 15 air conditioned rooms, including 6 suites, is furnished with fine period antiques in various gracious styles. Victorian, French Empire, New England Country. The opulent eclectic suites pamper discriminating tastes. Accessories of Lalique, Bacarat, fine porcelains, casablanca ceiling fans, art and oriental rugs bring together an extraordinary setting for the discerning traveler.

Parlor, library and dining room comprise the common areas where guests gather for a full gourmet breakfast, an evening glass of wine or champagne with hors d'oeuvres (all included in the room rate), relax by the fire, and read or exchange travel stories.

The natural outdoor beauty of our landscaped gardens augments this outstanding Victorian structure. Huge old trees, masterpieces in themselves, cause the visitor to stop in wonder. Winding through the spacious gardens and meadow, you cross an arched bridge over a brook to our pond, home to the resident snow geese, ducks and trout.

The Jackson House Restaurant serves elegant new American cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Brendan Nolan, previously of Aujourd' hui at the Four Seasons Hotel, Boston. Our cathedral-ceiling dining room has a striking granite open hearth fireplace and magnificent views of the five-acre garden. Chairs are handcrafted by Charles Shackleton, a local furniture maker. The Jackson House Restaurant is wheelchair accessible. See our recent review from: Country Inns Magazine (Jan. 98).

Woodstock has long been known as one of America's five most beautiful villages: historic architecture, spiraled churches, covered bridges, tree-lined streets, shops, and some of New England's finest dining. Staying at the JacksonHouse Inn places you in the centre of all the wonderful things Vermont has to offer: antiquing, art galleries, biking, hiking, horse-back riding, canoeing, swimming, museums, golf, tennis, theatre, ski-ing, sleigh rides, hot-air ballooning, star-gazing and moon-light.
