"Good
days are here again in Ghent, and so are good nights at the Page
House, a delishtful bed-and-breakfast inn located in the heart of the
(Ghent) neighborhood" - Southern living Magazine
Ninety
years after Herman L. Page built a Georgian Revival in-town mansion as
his family home, it was a boarded-up rotting hulk- a neighborhood
eyesore in the fashionable Ghent Historic District. In 1990, Stephanie
and Ezio DiBelardino bought this condemned building with the dream of
restoring it as an elegant urban inn- expressly for your traveling
pleasure. Under Ezio's golden hands and a "certified historic
rehabilitation" under guidelines established by the Secretary of
the Interior for significant historic properties, the eyesore was
reborn as the Page House Inn. For their combined efforts, the
DiBelardino's received Norfolks 1992 Design award for excellence in
renovation design and historic preservation through adaptive reuse.
Today
you can enjoy gracious hospitality from knowledgeable innkeepers and a
friendly staff in an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. Parlors and other
common areas are exclusively for guests' use. All of the inn's four
rooms and two suites come with private baths, telephone lines, TV's,
and custom bath amenities. Turn-down service is provided upon request
and daily maid service is provided by a competent housekeeping staff.
A
continental plus breakfast is served every morning and is included in
your rates. This hearty meal includes a selection of premium juices
(not from concentrates), fresh baked sourdough bread, fresh baked
cream scones, butter, assorted jams, and imported cheese. For those
watching their waistlines, a selection of low fat cereals served with
2% milk, yogurt, dried fruits, a basket of fresh fruits (apples,
oranges, bananas, etc.), poached or baked fruits or fruit compote
(seasonal) are available. Ask about Page House's "Sleepyhead
Special" in-room service.
"But if it is Ezio, with
his Old World charm, who has golden hands, it is Stephanie who fills
the house with its incomparable warmth" 'Country Inns Magazine.'
When traveling through Virginia, don't forget the Page House Inn in
the heart of the Ghent Historic District of Norfolk.
