Minutes
south of downtown Dallas, light years from the bustle of the
Metroplex, Lancaster is a treasure of gingerbread homes and small town
charm. Blocks from the town square, Country Rose is an old farmhouse
set on 2 ½ acres among fields of grain and grazing cattle.
Coyotes often wail in the distance, but you may listen for the ghostly
hooves of Steel Dust, legendary ancestor of the American Quarter
Horse, who raced across these grounds prior to the Civil War.
The
town square is filled with quaint shops and eateries. Theres even a
bed and breakfast for cats! Collectors will find a number of stores
selling antiques, and the Auction Block is a bargain hunter's
paradise.
Coffee and muffins are left outside each bedroom
door every morning, and a full breakfast is served in the large dining
room.
The library is well- stocked with books and games.
You'll find classic videos too.
Historically significant,
Lancaster is the oldest settlement in Dallas County.
