Located in historic Harriman, Tennessee's Cornstalk Heights National Historic
District, Bushrod Hall represents the elegant lifestyle of 100 years ago. We
offer our guests an experience in living history when our home was the Hall of
Domestic Science of the American Temperance University and when Harriman was a
booming utopia for "thrift, sobriety, superior intelligence and exalted
moral character.
Harriman is located at the base of the Cumberland Plateau less than 2 miles off
I-40 (Exit 347) about 30 minutes west of Knoxville and 20 minutes east of
Crossville - where history meets tomorrow! Ask about our
"junking/antiquing" excursions the third weekend of each month.
The decor of Bushrod Hall includes the red oak foyer and massive staircase
which was imported from Sweden in 1890, mosaic hardwood floors, and tall
ceilings. Eight types of piano finish woods are featured in the family and
guest rooms.
Pamper yourself with a quite, romantic getaway. All guest rooms have private
baths and King or Queen-sized beds. A full-plate, gourmet breakfast is served
in the Dining Room which is decorated with a crystal chandelier and cherry
woodwork.
