When it was built in 1876, the Victorian home at 519 West Sixth Street was one of the showiest homes in the city. It has been continually occupied, but never by residents so willing to share its beauty and hospitality as Pat and Keith Hagenbuch.

The original woodwork is one of the most eye-catching features of the interior, along with the 12-foot ceilings and interior folding shutters. The five guest rooms boast private baths, antique outfitting, and some have fireplaces. Guests are invited to relax in the elegant parlor, with its beautiful fireplace and baby grand piano, or select a good book from the well-stocked, beautiful library. A quaint gift shoppe is also available.

Spencer House is the perfect place for small weddings, business luncheons or meetings, parties or any other special event where personalized attention is important to the function's success. Spencer House is also a perfect home-away-from-home for the harried business traveler; the comfortable and relaced surroundings are a welcome change for business people tired of impersonal hotel service and less-than-stimulating restaurant food.
