The Harry Packer Mansion is an impressive edifice with imposing Gothic character and high Victorian grandeur is set in a Victorian village in Northeastern Pennsylvania between three breathtaking mountains with the tumultuous Lehigh River running through the center of town . It was built in 1874 from local brick and stone as well as New England sandstone with cast iron trim.

The accommodations in the Mansion and in the adjacent carriage house are every bit as elegant as the accommodations befitting grand ladies and gentlemen of yore but with all the creature comforts of the modern age. There are three suites and ten guests rooms, eight of which have private baths. The Mansion is true to its name as it contains many rooms including a study, a reception room, a ladies' parlor, a gentlemen's parlor, a center hall, a dining room, and a kitchen all on the first level. There was a butler's pantry which is now the kitchen and the original kitchen was in the basement. Reproductions of Victorian wallpaper decorate the rooms.

uch refined settings amid the trappings of Victorian luxury would hardly seem the proper place for a ghastly murder. The Mansion hosts a murder mystery game on the weekends. Come test your mettle and match wits in mystery of the Victorian era. Characters are the Packers and intimate friends. Clues are given and the game begins. A truly fun weekend is had by all!

Besides the fun of murder mystery game, the Harry Parker House is close to a quaint downtown area with fine restaurants, unique shops and wonderful old houses built from different period of the second empire through the Queen Anne. Take a tour or create your own as you walk down the streets. Go on a day hike up the mountains. There's white water rafting, tennis and swimming near by.
