A stay at Preston House is an experience to remember. The Queen Anne style house, built in 1886, features all the classic Victorian touches stained glass windows, window seats, dark wood molding, brick and tile fireplaces, and a large front porch complete with wooden rocking chairs.

In summertime its extensive garden filled with gorgeous roses, iris, pansies, snapdragons and refreshing mint provides a cool quiet spot for breakfast or book-reading under the aspens and 100-year-old apricot tree. On crisp winter days the cozy dining room and sitting room warmed by a crackling fire in the two Victorian fireplaces provide a perfect setting for a hot breakfast such as French toast or frittatas, pancakes, polenta or cheese grits. Accompany your hot entrée with scrumptious homemade muffins, incredibly moist homemade granola and whole grain breads, yogurt, cheeses and fresh fruit salad.

After a full day of activities, look forward to a restful sleep in a bed of feather and down. For your comfort and convenience, each spacious bedroom is furnished with a telephone and cable TV, along with a sinfully soft bathrobe to lounge in. Four of the rooms have fireplaces, and the two rooms in the newer garden guesthouse are air- conditioned. The third floor bedroom has its own spiral staircase to the garden. Fresh flowers and plants grace every room.
