During the 1800's it was one of several Inns on route 3A, being the
midway point on the stagecoach line between Boston and Montreal. Now
it is the only Inn and restaurant nestled on the shores of Newfound,
one of the most pristine lakes in the country. Featuring 31 rooms,
private beach and boat dock, and the renowned Pasquaney Restaurant &
Wild Hare Tavern, it continues to welcome it's guest as it has for
over 150 years.
The Pasquaney Restaurant & Wild Hare Tavern is one of the finest
in the area, and becoming one of the best known in the state. One can
enjoy the sumptuous food in the dining room overlooking the lake, or
dine on the beautiful verandah while watching some of the most
spectacular sunsets in the state.
The Inn, under new ownership since 1994, has been totally refurbished.
Appointed with beautiful antiques, oil paintings and art from around
the world. The rooms are decorated in Victorian decor and antiques as
to invite our guest to return to an era when life was more relaxed and
enjoyed.
The Inn features a T.V./game and reading room. There is also a
Jacuzzi/exercise room. If not relaxing on our beach, we offer
badminton, volleyball, croquet, and horse-shoes. There is hiking,
biking, boating, snow shoeing, and skiing. Truly a four season area.
Sitting on beautiful Newfound Lake, the area is one of New Hampshire's
best kept secrets. Gateway to the White Mountains and the Lakes
region, the area abounds with some of the States most beautiful
natural resources. One can hike on Cardigan Mountain or many other
posted and well-maintained trails throughout the area. Enjoy
Wellington State Park with its beautiful beaches, Sculptured Rocks, or
the Polar Caves, all within minutes of the Inn. Secluded in the
country, yet minutes from Plymouth State College and it's Performing
Arts Center, the Lakes Region Outlet Mall (tax free shopping!!!) and
just a short distance from beautiful Meredith on the shore of Lake
Winnipesaukee.
