There is a warm, personal element at the Darby Field Inn. Originally built as a
homestead in 1826, the inn has hosted guests of all ages: as a farm, boys' camp
and guest house. Today, it's a rambling mountain retreat, visited by travelers
the world over.
Outside you'll find award winning flower, herb and vegetable gardens, a
sparkling swimming pool, private walking or cross-country ski trails and a
stunning panorama of the White Mountains. Our living room with its massive
fieldstone fireplace invites you to meet other inn guests, read a book or just
relax with our mountain view.
As you dine, you'll discover the great pride the chef takes in preparing and
presenting every dish, ensuring that dining will become one of your favorite
memories. You'll savor our original American cuisine by candlelight, prepared
fresh to order, and be entertained with classical musical and perhaps even a
sunset.
Our cozy sunroom tavern is the ideal gathering spot to unwind after your day's
activities. Don't forget to try our famous "Irish Revolution" - a
drink and dessert all in one.
The size, view and arrangement of our traditionally distinctive guest rooms
gives each a character all its own. The atmosphere is casual and unhurried as
our staff caters to your need in a professional and easygoing manner.
By the end of your stay, you'll feel part of the Darby Field tradition and will
be looking forward to returning to the Inn that stands at the end of an
"unwinding" road.
