Adair was built in 1927 and continues its tradition of hosting
friends, new and old, as a country inn under the care of Patricia and
Hardy Banfield, formerly of Portland, Maine.
We offer nine luxurious rooms furnished with a variety of period
antiques and reproductions. Each has a lovely view of "The White
Mountains" or our beautifully landscaped grounds. All have a full
private bath and queen, king, or twin sized beds. Your complete
comfort and full relaxation is our goal.
Walking and hiking trails are located at the adjacent 1,200 acre Rocks
Estate owned by The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire
Forests. A United States Parks Service Ranger Station is located in
Bethlehem at the edge of the 700,000 acre White Mountain National
Forest offering advice for walks and hikes, at both Franconia and
Crawford Notches.
The Mount Washington Valley offers the finest skiing in the east at
the following nearby facilities: Cannon (15 min), Bretton Woods (20
min), Loon (30 min), Attitash (35 min), and Wildcat (45 min). There
are several interesting local cross-country ski trails, in addition to
the extensive Bretton Woods and Jackson systems at the foot of Mount
Washington.
The Bethlehem area has several 18 hole golf courses including The
Maplewood and Bethlehem Country Clubs and Adair offers an all-weather
tennis court.
