Mountain View Lodge and Cabins provides accommodations on the Blue Ridge Parkway (Milepost 256) in northwest North Carolina in Ashe County. We are three miles north of Glendale Springs (home of the Church of the Frescoes) and 30 minutes from Boone.

Stay in one of our lodge suites with your own fireplace and private bath. Or relax in one of our secluded cabins nestled in the pine trees with your own kitchenette and private bath. We will host family reunions and business meetings.

Relax in a cabin nestled in the pine trees, with the forest on one side and the lodge grounds on the other. Pets are welcome in the cabins. Our cabins are arranged in a duplex fashion, with a connecting door between the halves. We have up to 10 half cabins (or 5 full cabins) available.

Elton and JoAnn Derden, your hosts, are native Texans who have made these mountains their home. They both have wonderful laughs, and enjoy meeting guests and attending to the goings-on around the lodge. Elton is a former schoolteacher and retired elementary school principal who lends a helping hand to anyone. He also loves to make creative breakfasts. You must try his bean cakes! He makes sure the deer and other critters have snacks on the lawn so they won't forget to visit. JoAnn Derden is a former piano teacher who is quite an accomplished performer herself. The local deer have even been known to gather especially for her performances! She also somehow finds time to record original and beautiful compositions and improvisations. She'll be more than happy to play for you, and thrilled if you would like to take one (or more) of her tapes home!
