Only 55 miles North of Boston, the York Harbor Inn offers a retreat from the rigors of metropolitan life. Come experience it for yourself. This century-old, air-conditioned inn has breathtaking, vistas and is located on the water next to York Harbor along the picturesque, rocky coast of souther Maine. Nestled in the historic and prestigious Harbor Village area, the inn stands as a warm and restful sentinel. At dusk, lights twinkling through hundreds of small panes of glass establish an open invitation and welcome to visitors.
As its centerpiece, this immaculate inn has a moved and re-assembled, circa 1637 greatroom - a former fisherman's cabin from the Isles of Shoals located 8 miles off the coast. This warm and historic structure, with its massive field stone fireplace, oreintal rugs and comfortable sofas, serves as a reading/gathering room.
The 40 guestrooms are filled with Colonial era antiques and reproductions. Imaginative use of floor coverings, wallpaper and fabric creates the perfect backdrop for many 4-poster beds, paintings, and appropriate finishing touches. Nooks and crannies abound and working fireplaces, irons and boards, classic linens and toiletries, telephones and televisions, and Jacuzzi spas are but a few of the in-room amenities. Many rooms offer ocean views, some with ocean view decks.
The inn's romantic oceanfront dining room offers award-winning cuisine and the Wine Cellar Pub features fireplaces and entertainment. All rooms include a full continental breakfast with a variety of pastries, fruits, cereals, juices and coffee. There are a variety of activities in the area including golfing, swimming, boating, fishing and outlet shopping.
