As its centerpiece, this immaculate inn has a moved and re-assembled, circa 1637 greatroom - a former fisherman's cabin from the Isles of Shoals located 8 miles off the coast. This warm and historic structure, with its massive field stone fireplace, oreintal rugs and comfortable sofas, serves as a reading/gathering room.

The 40 guestrooms are filled with Colonial era antiques and reproductions. Imaginative use of floor coverings, wallpaper and fabric creates the perfect backdrop for many 4-poster beds, paintings, and appropriate finishing touches. Nooks and crannies abound and working fireplaces, irons and boards, classic linens and toiletries, telephones and televisions, and Jacuzzi spas are but a few of the in-room amenities.
