Snowsquall Bed & Breakfast
Built in the early 1850's, the SNOWSQUALL is located in
Wiscasset, "The Prettiest Village in Maine", on Route 1 just minutes
from Boothbay Harbor. We're also within walking distance to some of the finest
old sea captains' homes, galleries and many antique shops. The SNOW SQUALL is
named after a clipper ship, launched in Cape Elizabeth, Maine in 1851, and
shipwrecked near the Falkland Islands in 1864, where she still rests sunk at the
dock. On display at our inn is an actual piece of the "Snow Squall"
brought back from the Falkland Islands by our son in January, 1996. The SNOW
SQUALL offers seven very comfortable rooms, of which three are large two bedroom
suites. Two suites are located in our Carriage House, with private entrances,
ideal for families or friends. All rooms are uniquely designed and decorated,
and named after a clipper ship built in Maine. Every room has a private bath,
with your choice of Queen or King size beds, and two of the guest rooms have
fireplaces. Come and relax on our large porch or in front of the fire in the
library or gathering room. Slumber in one of our elegant rooms and awaken to the
delightful aroma of fresh breads and gourmet coffee. Escape for the evening or a
week with us on the scenic Maine coast. We designed and renovated our B &
B with your comfort in mind, decorating each room with fine furnishings and Down
East charm. The SNOW SQUALL offers a unique Maine experience, combining warm
hospitality in a luxurious setting. Join us for a relaxing getaway.
