A visiting child gave the inn its unusual name more than 100 years ago when he walked in, marveled at the dramatic central hallways and exclaimed, "Why Mama, it's mostly hall!"

The inn features a full breakfast served on the wide wraparound porch overlooking the garden gazebo or in the spacious fireplaced living room with its 13-foot ceilings and tall shuttered windows. House specialties, many featured in the Inn's cookbook, Breakfast at 9, include stuffed French toast, sunshine eggs, cheese blintz muffins with blueberry sauce, eggs Benedict souffles and puffy fruit pancakes. Sherry, tea and seasonal refreshments are available each afternoon.

Set back from the street on over an acre of beautiful gardens and rolling lawn just off the Falmouth Village Green, Mostly Hall offers a secluded location in the heart of the town's historic district. Village shops, galleries and restaurants are all within easy walking distance. Beaches, theaters and island ferries are nearby.

Six spacious corner guestrooms with private baths feature queen-size four poster canopy beds, floral wallpapers, oriental accent rugs, ceiling fans, reading chairs and a combination of antiques and traditional furnishings. The non-smoking inn is centrally air-conditioned.
