Exclusive
10,000-acre Georgia Island paradise, seven-mile shell-strewn
undeveloped beach, gourmet regional cuisine and elegantly rustic
accommodations await just 30 overnight guests.
On this
private Island the day begins with a hearty, home style breakfast. A
cast iron bell is used to beckon guests to meals; its resounding
chimes drifting through the live oaks to reach the various cottages
and cabins that comprise The Lodge on Little St. Simons Island.
Families and friends gather together around the table for a sumptuous
breakfast served family- style in the Hunting Lodge dining room. From
there, the Island and all of its riches are theirs to discover, with
helpful staff to provide instruction and guidance as needed.
Year-round activities include bicycling, birding, boating, canoeing,
horseback riding, fishing, hiking and guided naturalist tours.
Little
St. Simons Island provides a natural habitat for a diverse community
of wildlife including alligators, fallow deer which were imported to
the Island by the owners in the early 1900s, and over 220 species of
birds.
Little St. Simons Island is located on the Georgia
coast, approximately halfway between Savannah, Georgia and
Jacksonville, Florida. Accessible only by boat, Little St. Simons
Island ferries guests to and from neighboring St. Simons Island by
private boat. The fifteen minute boat ride along the Hampton River
offers beautiful scenery.
