Come savor the past at St. Francis Inn. Located in St. Augustine
Antigua, the restored historic district of the Nation's oldest city,
the Inn is rich in Old World charm and modern comforts.
Founded in 1565 by Pedro Menendez and a band of colonists and
soldiers, the bayfront city of St. Augustine still reflects its
Spanish heritage in beautiful, evocative architecture amid subtropical
natural splendor. The Inn, originally built by Senor Gaspar Garcia in
1791, is constructed of "coquina" limestone, which is made
up of broken shells and coral. The entrance faces a courtyard and
garden containing lush banana trees, bougainvillaea, jasmine and other
exotic flora. Two courtyards, private and shared balconies and a patio
are perfect places for guests to read, write, paint, or just rest.
A walk through the oldest city's historic district is not to be
missed. Guests at the Inn receive free admission to the nearby Oldest
House - one of St. Augustine's finest attractions.
The Inn has a swimming pool and complimentary bicycles for touring
downtown. Music in the courtyard is offered Sunday evenings April
through October. The Inn is conveniently located within walking
distance of St. Augustine's many charming restaurants, quaint shops
and historic sites.
