The
Thatcher Inn is ideally located in Hopland, "Gateway to Mendocino
County," with Clear Lake, the Mendocino Coast, the Redwood
Empire, and San Francisco Bay Area, all within a scenic 2-hour-or-less
drive.
The Thatcher Inn is an historical gem in the heart of
Hopland. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places , it was
built in 1890 by Thomas J. Ludwig, an important regional builder and
architect, for William Wallace Thatcher, who founded the modern
community Hopland. The hotel underwent a two million dollar
restoration in the early 1980s and appears today essentially as it did
when it was first completed.
Today's guest enjoy the romantic
elegance of days gone by complemented by modern comforts. Each of the
twenty guest rooms offer comfort and privacy. Rooms on the second
floor have fifteen foot high ceilings and large bathrooms. All rooms
are decorated with antiques., period furnishings, floral wallpapers,
monogrammed robes and towels. A delicious full breakfast is prepared
and served to the guests by your hosts Don and Marlena Sacca.

unique setting in the heart of the Mendocino Wine Country makes the

Thatcher Inn is the famous Real Goods, which features some of the

products. Fine wineries in the vicinity include Fetzer, Brutacao,
Jepson, Hush, Milano, and McDowell. Hiking in several Redwood Empire
National Parks is nearby along with river rafting. Also just a few
steps away is Hopland Brewery.
