As you drive up the hill and enter the driveway to this massive urban colonial manor, you behold manicured lawns, azaleas, magnolia trees, and a front porch that seems to go on forever.

Walks before or after breakfast are the perfect way to start your day. You may choose to take a short walk around the grounds...smell the honeysuckle, fresh herbs or just sit on the patio among the flowers. You may prefer to take a stroll across the street to the peaceful monastery woods and gardens. If shopping is on your agenda, there are numerous specialty shops within walking distance. A busy mall with over 100 stores is one mile away. Downtown Ft. Smith, located just two miles directly west of Beland Manor, is rich with history, housing a half dozen small, yet enticing, museums, a national historical site and of course a "Bordello."

Breakfast is certainly the high point of your stay at Beland Manor. We serve a very substantially satisfying gourmet breakfast in our sunny blue dining room, surrounded by various collectibles at individual tables. Honeymooners are entitled to the romantic bay window table, where they can watch the world go by as they enjoy their breakfast. Be prepared to take your time on Sunday mornings. The innkeepers prepare an extra course...Dessert!
