We are happy you are considering an overnight stay in Anchorage. This is an exciting city with much to see and do. And we at Mahogany Manor are ready to make your stay even more enjoyable.

Mahogany Manor offers the discriminating traveler an elegant lodge atmosphere, right in the heart of town, close to all the activity.

Once owned by a prominent local family, Mahogany Manor was built in 1947 and is known as the "original mansion of Anchorage." Designed for entertaining and social events, it remains today a stunning example of Alaskan elegance and comfort. With over 5300 square feet of sumptuous living area, the estate is centrally located at an elevation which provides spectacular views of Anchorage and its surrounding mountain ranges. Although at the edge of town when established, the estate is today firmly positioned at the center of activity. Yet due to the heavily wooded grounds, it retains the ambiance of a pristine wilderness lodge.

Owing its name to the mahogany siding which adorns the structure, this manor house is constructed of rare woods and other unique materials. Inside you will enjoy a long list of tantalizing features including a rich redwood interior, two immense fireplaces (one of which is over 200 cubic feet), a six-foot waterfall, a floating circular staircase, and a panorama of windows providing expansive views of downtown to the north and midtown to the south.

Take in the view outside by strolling along one of the four large decks, each offering a different view of the surrounding grounds. Enjoy the heavily wooded forest with white birch and evergreen trees, all of which can be enjoyed while relaxing in the 19-foot whirlpool/swim spa.
